Chrześcijaństwo w kulturze. Wybrane zagadnienia

Przedmiotem tomu jest kultura chrześcijańska Polski i Europy XVXVII wieku, ujmowana w perspektywach tradycji antycznej i wczesnochrześcijańskiej oraz dialogu między Wschodem i Zachodem. Wybrane zagadnienia dotyczą piśmiennictwa (traktaty, apokryfy, kazania, poezja), sztuki i muzyki sakralnej, obrzędowości w sferze kultury popularnej (pieśni, widowiska teatralno-muzyczne). W publikacji dyskutowane są nurty duchowości chrześcijańskiej (ignacjanizm i jezuityzm, szkoła karmelitańska) oraz sytuacje przesileń kulturowych (dialog z antykiem pogańskim w pierwszych stuleciach i stopniowe wygasanie tradycji humanistycznej, sobór trydencki i wyłaniająca się z niego wizja kultury). W spektrum rozważań pojawiają się również zjawiska graniczne lub wykraczające poza ramy doktryny Kościoła rzymskiego (teizm, libertynizm, jansenizm, kwietyzm).

Christianity in Culture Selected Aspects

The volume explores Polish and European Christian culture from the 15th to the 17th century, presented from the perspective of ancient and early Christian tradition and the dialogue between East and West. The authors examine selected aspects of literature (treatises, apocrypha, sermons, poetry), art and sacred music, rituals in popular culture (songs, music and theatrical spectacles). The publication also discusses spiritual Christian movements (Ignatian and Jesuit spirituality, Carmelite school) and the turning points in culture (dialogue with pagan antiquity in the first centuries and gradual abatement of humanistic tradition, the Council of Trent and the vision of culture emerging from it). The book also analyses boundary phenomena and those beyond the doctrine of the Roman Church (theism, libertinism, Jansenism, Quietism).
