Welcome to Avel: a world where the sky is full of dozens of moons visible both during the day and night. Those magical celestial bodies - supposedly inhabited by gods - send magical gifts to the inhabitants of the planet. Its thanks to them that the wizards weave their magic, druids help farmers take care of the crops, and children may play in aerial streams. However, there is no time for play now as Kurodar, the Black Moon, is getting close to Avel, and its evil magic awakes the forces of evil. Dangerous creatures always lurked in forests, caves, and other dark places always, but now they keep creeping out in groups, and their hateful eyes are focused on the castle. Its up to you to save the land from their destructive drive! The Chronicles of Avel is a cooperative family board game, where we become heroes and heroines responsible for saving this magical land. During the game youll create your own characters with unique names and special equipment, and then youll explore the world by moving on a modular map. While traveling, youll encounter many dangers that you have to fight, and each victory will bring you a certain reward: new weapons, armor, elixirs, and gold. Gathered goods will help you prepare for the final encounter with the Beast that threatens the kingdom of Avel. Answer the Queens call and fight together against the servants of the Black Moon. Defend the castle, banish the Beast, and save Avel! How does it work? Each game of Avel begins with creating your own character. You may color and decorate the universal character picture as you wish. Dont forget about creating their unique coat of arms and choosing the most heroic name ever! When all the players are ready, the fun may begin. The goal of the game is discovering all the corners of the land, battling monsters, and improving/developing your character in order to best prepare for the final battle with the Beast that will appear after a certain number of rounds. Avel is a cooperative game, therefore all players work as a team and the success of one of you is the success of the entire group. The game itself consists of rounds during which players play their turns. During your action you may move on the board, use the special tile actions of the places you visit, rest or battle monsters by rolling dice and using your equipment. Thats how you gain new items that will help you in future encounters. Each action taken has influence on the situations of the whole team and will impact the strategy you chose. When a certain number of rounds passes, the Beast will enter the game. From now on, your main goal is defeating the Beast and its brethren before they reach the castle. Why will you love this game?
